Peanut Butter Protein Rice Krispies Treats

Let’s be real, you’re eating right, working out, and feeling pretty good. Right? You deserve something sweet that doesn’t destroy your macros or is loaded with sugar! These Peanut Butter Protein Rice Krispies will hopefully satisfy your cravings.

Here’s a guilt-free snack that we’ve all had when we were younger. I’m not taking the credit for the recipe on these Peanut Butter Protein Rice Krispies Treats, but I’ve seen many different recipes to create virtually, the same thing. So here’s my take on this version Protein Rice Krispies.

Ingredients for Protein Rice Krispies

  • 3 cups / 96 grams – Rice Krispies Cereal (any brand will work)
  • 1/2 cup / 142grams – Agave (you can also use honey)
  • 1/2 cup / 140grams – Peanut Butter (I used creamy)
  • 2 scoops – Whey Protein (I used a chocolate flavor for the taste)
  • Optional: Dark Chocolate

Directions

You will need two bowls (three, if using dark chocolate).

Large (Rice Krispies), medium (agave and peanut butter), and small (dark chocolate).

First pour your cereal into the large bowl and set aside.

Second, put your Agave and Peanut Butter in the medium bowl, stir it, and microwave in increments of 30 seconds until it’s nice and smooth.

Now it’s time to pour it in the cereal and add your 2 scoops of Protein and stir until it is all combined.

Carefully stir to make sure all the cereal is coated.

Before pouring the cereal in your pan, spray or oil your pan (I used a 9×11 pan). Make sure to press it down and flat.

If you’re using dark chocolate, put about a 1/2 cup in the small bowl and microwave in increments of 15 seconds until melted. Pour and spread this over the top (I chose to do only half of my Rice Krispy Treats).

Now put these in the fridge or freezer until firm. Usually 15-30 minutes.

I cut mine in order to get 12 bars. Cut yours to your liking, keep in mind the Protein and other macros will vary depending on size.

Enjoy these sweet macro friendly treats!
